The ‘Tongue of the Ocean’ is located near the Bahamas, between the islands of Andros and New Providence. The ‘Tongue of the Ocean’ is a deep trench with a primarily flat bottom, dropping 3,600 to 6,600 feet below the ocean’s surface. The northern portion greets open waters, while the southern part is surrounded by islands, reefs, and shoals. The shoals and reefs make the area an excellent diving location, and fishing is popular as well.
