Most modes of transportation are transitioning to electric power. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, most major vehicle manufacturers have announced imminent conversion from gasoline and diesel to electric. Norway currently leads the world in electric car deployment, with a 54% market share of all new cars purchased. With just over five million people, there are just over one million electric cars on the road. By 2025, Norway is targeting to have 100% sales of electric vehicles. The Netherlands comes in second place, with about 16% of the market consisting of electric vehicles. The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and Germany have set the goal of 100% electric vehicle sales ranging from 2030 to 2050.
