What 1960s sitcom followed a sheriff without a gun?
YOU ANSWERED INCORRECTLY!
Answer: The Andy Griffith Show
About The Answer:
Sheriff Andy Taylor did not carry a gun in ‘The Andy Griffith Show.’ While many suspected the reason for not having a gun was the general lack of crime in fictional Mayberry, North Carolina, Andy Griffith revealed, years later, “the real reason I didn’t wear one is I didn’t want that weight on my hip.” Not to worry, though. His deputy, Barney Fife, always carried his gun. The running gag throughout the show was Barney also only carried one bullet with him. ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ ran from 1960 to 1968 and produced 249 episodes. It is only one of three television shows to finish its final season in the number one spot, along with ‘I Love Lucy’ in 1957 and ‘Seinfeld’ in 1998.
