What is New York's famous music festival of the 1960s?

YOU ANSWERED CORRECTLY!

Answer: Woodstock

About The Answer:

Woodstock is the most famous music festival of the 1960s and occurred in August 1969. The festival attracted 400,000 people and featured thirty-two acts over three days, despite periodic rain showers. Its site in Bethel, NY (actually 40 miles southwest of Woodstock, NY) was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2017. Woodstock ’94 and Woodstock ’99 tried to duplicate the magic of the original festival. Woodstock ’94 was held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original Woodstock and sold 164,000 tickets to the show, but estimates of attendance reached 550,000. Woodstock ’99 proved to be less than ideal for attendees, with oppressive heat, inadequate sanitary facilities, reported violence, and high food and drink prices.
