The alternate dimension in ‘Stranger Things’ is called The Upside Down. The popular Netflix show is set in the 1980s and features a group of children who become aware of clandestine, sinister experiments being conducted at Hawkins National Laboratory. The laboratory is developing children with psychic abilities. One of those children, named ‘Eleven,’ accidentally contacts a monster known as the Mind Flayer from the Upside Down. Eleven manages to escape the laboratory and meets up with a group of local children who take it upon themselves to investigate the strange happens within their town. While Netflix does not release viewer statistics, ‘Stranger Things’ is probably the streaming services’ top show. Three seasons have been released, and a fourth is currently being filmed.
