Quint’s boat that was used for hunting and tracking down the great white shark in the movie Jaws was named the Orca. An orca, or killer whale, is the only known predator of the great white shark. Jaws was released in 1975 and was based on Peter Benchley’s novel of the same name. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the movie was one of the first summer blockbusters and led to marketing campaigns around big, summer movies. It was the highest-grossing movie of all time until Star Wars was released in 1977. Amazingly, Jaws and several other popular films from the past are reappearing on current top box office charts as drive-in movie theaters across the nation re-open, many showing older films. Last weekend’s top five movies for the United States were Trolls World Tour at number one, a current film, followed by Jurassic Park, The Goonies, Jaws, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
