The first U.S. film to show a toilet flushing is the movie titled Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. This movie was released in 1960 and was, and still is a very popular film. It is a horror and thriller movie that has you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole program. The main character, Norman Bates, was played by the actor Anthony Perkins. There were several other great actors/actresses as well. These amazing performers include Janet Leigh, John Gavin, Vera Miles, and even Alfred Hitchcock’s only child, Pat Hitchcock.  Psycho is so loved, that it has several movies based on the original as well as a TV series called Bates Motel. Psycho has made a total of $50 million  on an $800,000 budget.
