Twttr was the original project code name for Twitter when it was first under development. The code name was inspired by Flickr plus the use of American SMS short codes. In addition, the domain name twitter.com was not available. Twitter was founded and developed by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams. Twitter is defined as “a short burst of inconsequential information” and
“chirps from birds,” which the founders believed was a perfect description of their company. The company employees 4,600 people across the globe and has 321 million active users.
