The museum features restored signs, telling a story on its history, who created it, and why it is significant. After the scrapping of the iconic sign from The Sands, which closed in 1995, a museum’s idea to preserve these artifacts came about. Since then, the Neon Museum has been responsible for spearheading efforts to restore the famous Hacienda Horse & Rider, Silver Slipper, and The Flame signs. More than 200,000 annual visitors from around the world are welcomed to the Neon Museum. There is also a Neon Museum in Warsaw, Poland, celebrating Polish light advertisements created after World War II.
