Which U.S. state is known for peaches?
YOU ANSWERED CORRECTLY!
Answer: Georgia
About The Answer:
Georgia is known for its peaches, and its state nickname is The Peach State. The state officially adopted the peach as the official fruit in 1995. Interestingly, the state’s official crop was named in the same year – the peanut. Georgia produced 25,000 tons of peaches in 2018, a relatively minor crop compared to California’s 510,000 tons of the fruit. Even South Carolina and New Jersey produce more peaches than Georgia. Only five percent of the world’s peaches are grown in the United States, with China growing 45% of the world’s crop of peaches. Georgia claims their peaches are of the highest quality fruit with superior flavor, texture, appearance, and nutritious qualities.
Great job!
