Uncle Scrooge is a popular figure in Disney lore, and Carl Barks created the character in 1947. Uncle Scrooge classifies himself as an “adventure-capitalist” who likes to expand his wealth through adventures, which he often involves with his grandnephews. Uncle Scrooge keeps all his material wealth in his “Money Bin,” a vast storage building with three cubic acres of cash. Scrooge’s favorite hobby is to dive and swim within the vault. Uncle Scrooge became so popular within the Donald Duck universe that he was awarded his own comic book in 1952 and is still published today.
