Who was the first woman pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean?

YOU ANSWERED CORRECTLY!

Answer: Amelia Earhart

About The Answer:

Amelia Earhart was the first woman and second person after Charles Lindbergh to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. While it can be argued the other women from the choices were superior to Earhart in flight skills, what propelled Earhart to become the most famous female aviator was an expertly constructed publicity campaign. Her husband, George Palmer Putnam, was a prominent American book publisher. He promoted Earhart’s flights and records, led her on speaking tours, and encouraged her to write books about her exploits, all crafted to increase Earhart’s fame. After becoming the first woman to fly as a passenger across the Atlantic in 1928, she accomplished the feat of piloting solo in 1932.

Great job!
